THE LORD OF THE RINGS TRILOGY (2001-2003) dir. Peter Jackson
Back before films were invented this lad called JRR Tolkien wrote this book about this place called middle-earth. In middle-earth there lives all these different types of people like on our planet.
These books by Jimmy Tolkien were very popular with nerds and they were very long. So Peter Jackson goes 'I reckon I can get all those shenanigans on film in about 8 hours, no bother'...and that's exactly what he did.
When you cut through the fantasy nonsense The Lord of the Rings is a movie about 'small people' like that one from Star Wars inside the robot.
And what does this movie teach us? it teaches us that someone small really can make a difference.
So these little lads go on this right big long mission to melt this ring cause it makes them invisible and makes these bad ghosts able to see them or something...it's very long, I dipped in and out.
LOTR also teaches us that racial tensions can run high even in fantasy worlds...so basically when you watch this it's a bit like watching American History X with unicorns or whatever.
Oh yeah everyone has the same name pretty much and good luck understanding the trees...the talking trees. Sure.
